President Kim and Three Former Presidents Meet for Solidarity for S-N Summit



President Kim Dae-jung invited three former presidents, Choi Kyu-hah, Chun Doo-hwan, and Roh Tae-woo to explain some background for the North-South summit on April 25.

Meetings with Speaker Park Jyun-kyu, Chief Justice Choi Jong-young, and Prime Minister Park Tae-joon and with CEOs from the media sector are also scheduled for April 26.

The series of meetings are disigned to promote national solidarity for the summit.

"Pyongyang finally understood that cooperation with Seoul would be beneficial," President Kim commented, continuing, "the assistance from the allied nations was also helpful indeed."

The former presidents wished for a succesful meeting with one voice saying, "We hope it will result in the building of peace on the Korean Peninsula which both nations have long desired."

"The meeting was held with a friendly mood from the beginning to the end," a spokesman from Chong Wa Dae was quoted as saying.
