The Central Election Management Committee (CEMC) revealed on April 26 that 442 out of 1038 candidates tht ran in the sixteenth general election were supported with mroe than $18 million from the National Tresury.

The amount was 1.5 times higher than the $7.3 million spent in the last general election.
