GNP to Hold Party Convention on May 31
At the Grand National Party (GNP) executive committee meeting held on April 27, the GNP decided to hold their party convention on May 31 in order to elect a chief, to launch amendment works for the party constitution as well as regulations for the preparation of the party convention.The party plans on filling the vice-presidential committee with 12 members. Six or seven will be elected, and 5-6 will be appointed to the committee.
Over 20 candidates are expected to run for the position of party president. Current president Lee, assemblyman Kang Sam-jae, and Sohn Hak-kyu are openly competing for the post.
