Prosecution to Reinvestigate Linda Kim Scandle

On May 3, it was revealed that the prosecution will once again investigate Linda Kim who is suspected of illegal lobbying concerning the 'Paektu' project and the installation of electronic weapons on the eastern front.

When the prosecution restarts the full scale investigation into Linda Kim's activities, which occurred during Kim Young-sam's government, it is expected to create a stir in politics and the military.

First of all, some high ranking officials, icluding Lee Yang-ho, a former minister of National Defense, and Hwang Myung-soo, a former head of the National Defense Commission, will not avoid summons by the prosecution.

On May 2, the Seoul District Public Prosecutors Office requested a restriction of travel to prevent Linda Kim's departure from Korea and is now preparing to take and examine all related documents from the National Security Command, which conducted an internal investigation into Linda Kim's suspicious lobbying.

One official in the ruling party stated that President Kim Dae-jung emphasized a fair and perfectly conducted investigation in order to clearify the suspicions.
