President Konare of Mali's Visit Delayed
Alpha Oumar Konare, the president of the northwest African state of Mali, was scheduled to arrive in Seoul on May 8, but this has been delayed due to regional "complications" according to a spokesperson for Chong Wa Dae, the presidential office.With military rebels in neighbouring Sierra Leone where civilians and U.N. Peace Corps have been kidnapped, an emergency summit was called on May 8, requiring Mali to request a postponement of their state visit to South Korea.
South Korea and Mali have agreed to re-schedule President Konare's visit for the near future.
