Christian Lawmakers Proclaim 'Seven Principles for New National Assembly'

A gathering of Christian lawmakers made up of 30 politicians from the National Assembly, including Kim Yong-jin and Jang Song-won of the ruling Millennium Democratic Party (MDP), Park Myong-hwan and Park Se-hwan of the Grand National Party (GNP), and Oh Jang-sop of the United Liberal Democrats (ULD) proclaimed 'Seven Principles for a New National Assembly' at a National Assembly breakfast prayer meeting on May 30.

The lawmakers attending the gathering held a general meeting in which they vowed to vote across party lines, combat political opportunism, cooperate with civic groups' monitoring activities, fight to eliminate physical violence in the Assembly, and overcome local favoritism and regional antagonism.
