Congressional Hearing on Appointment of Lee Han-dong
For the first time in the nation's history, the National Assembly will be holding a hearing for Lee Han-dong, candidate for the prime ministership on June 26th at 10am.The hearing will be televised live, seeing a scheduled 13 members of congress allowed to pose questions to Lee for a maximum 15 minutes each. The interviewers will also have an additional 10-minute question period at the end to pose any last queries0.
The Grand National Party (GNP) will mostly grill Lee on his changes of position on a variety issues as well as the potentially contentious issue of his ownership of property. On the other hand, the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP) and United Liberal Party (ULP) coalition will likely try to highlight Lee's abilities that would make him the best man for the position.
The hearings are to continue until June 27th, with the National Assembly convening to vote on whether or not to accept Lee's the appointment.
