North and South Foreign Ministers to meet in New York

South Korean minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lee Joung-binn and North Korean Foreign Minister Park Nam-sun reportedly will hold a meeting in New York during next month's UN Millennium Summit.

"After their first-ever talks in Bangkok on July 26 during the ASEAN Regional Forum foreign ministers conference, the foreign ministers of the South and the North will hold a second round of talks in New York about September 18 to discuss measures for inter-Korean cooperation in foreign relations."

The ministers of the two Koreas are expected to discuss a possible submission to the UN general meeting of a resolution to affirm the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration, and the establishment of lines of communication between the embassies and legations of the two Koreas in other countries.
