President Kim Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize Again

President Kim Dae-jung of South Korea has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to reports by Norway's NTB News on September 5. President Kim, who is among 150 nominees, is being recognized for his landmark policy toward North Korea.

This is the second consecutive year the South Korean president has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Other candidates this year include U.S. President Bill Clintion, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, the Salvation Army and the people of Kukes, a city in Albania that welcomed close to 450,000 Kosovo refugees last year.

The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on October 13 in Oslo.
