Audit Board Steps Up Probe into Local Governments
"Poorly managed local governments will pay the price next year," warned the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection, Lee Jong-nam, at a press conference to mark his first year in office. He said that the board has gathered increasing evidence of mismanagement at local governments and said that the branch will step up its investigation into six public sector departments: tax administration, construction, building, sanitation, environment and police.
