Kim Hints At Summit

While visiting Taegu on his way to the Kyongju World Culture Expo 2000, President Kim Dae-jung said it would be possible to arrange a three-way summit meeting among the United States, Korea and Japan in Seoul, after President Bill Clinton visits North Korea, probably next month.

At a meeting with political and business leaders from Taegu and North Kyongsang province on Sunday, Mr. Kim stressed the role of the South Korean capital in foreign relations with the North.

"Seoul is now the center of international diplomacy on North Korea," Mr. Kim declared.
