Exchange to Refine Statistics
Kosdaq-listed companies that get qualified or adverse opinions or disclaimers from their independent auditors or fail to submit financial statements will be excluded from that market's price-earnings ratio beginning Wednesday. The Kosdaq market said Monday that it hoped that the move, bringing stricter standards to the ratio, would make the reference more useful for investors.
Consisting mostly of high-tech issues, the Kosdaq will also begin reporting dividend ratios for individual stocks and for the market as a whole. The dividend ratios for individual issues will indicate the return investors can expect in cash dividends when they buy the stock at the spot price and keep it for a year; the market rate will give investors an idea of the market's average dividend yield.
