STS Semiconductor & Telecommunication Co. was approved for registration on the Kosdaq. The company supplies Samsung Electronics Co. and Fairchild Semiconductor Korea, and its shares will be traded Wednesday at 7,500 won ($5.65) with a par value of 500 won.



Inchon Iron & Steel Co. said Friday its first quarter revenues were 613 billion won ($461.7 million), up 26 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit was 40 billion won, a 44 percent increase. Its debt ratio decreased to 197.5 percent, down 24 percent from last year.



3Com Korea, a network equipment producer, promoted Choi Ho-won, 42, to chief executive officer Thursday. Mr. Choi was formerly manager of network operations at the firm.



Hankook Tire Co. said Thursday that it has become the ninth member of rubber network.com, the world's biggest business-to-business web site in the rubber and tire industry. The web site was formed last October by leading tire manufacturers, including Goodyear, Michelin and Continental to co-purchase rubber. Hankook spent $2.94 million for a 5.6 percent stake in the site.
