Daehan Life Probe Starts Today
The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation will send a team of 10 investigators today to Daehan Life Insurance to conduct a probe that will determine responsibility for the firm's insolvency. The probe would have been impossible before last year's revision to the Depositor Protection Act. Previously, investigations into firms receiving bailout funds were allowed only after bankruptcies.
The deposit insurer also asked Seoul Guarantee Insurance Co. and Daehan Investment Trust & Securities to conduct internal investigations to correct management problems before any disbursement of bailout funds is made.
