2 Banks Agree to be Partners

Hanvit Bank and Korea Development Bank are forging a cooperative relationship, they said Thursday. The chief executive of Hanvit Bank, Lee Duk-hoon, and the governor of the state-owned Korea Development Bank, Jung Keun-yong, have agreed the two banks will share retail outlets, jointly develop financial products and services and combine forces on the financing of projects and ventures.

Hanvit seeks the state-owned bank's expertise in wholesaling and attracting foreign investment, and Korea Development will use Hanvit's many retail outlets and ATMs. The two plan to form integration teams this month and start sharing outlets in November.
