Retired Brass Link Security Law, Visit

The Korea Retired Generals and Admirals Association announced Tuesday that the group would oppose the return visit by North Korea's National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong-il if the government goes ahead with the amendment of the National Security Law.

"The spirit of our nation would be shaken, and it would make it impossible to block people praising and encouraging Chairman Kim, if the return visit takes place after the amendment," Yoon Heung-jeong, secretary general of the association, said.

"We plan to present a statement during the 51st anniversary commemoration of the Korean War and directly deliver it to the Grand National Party, the Millennium Democratic Party and the United Liberal Democrats," Mr. Yoon said.
