Agenda Can Be Set At Table, U.S. Says

The United States said that the agenda for its renewed talks with North Korea can be set at the negotiating table, but indicated that it still intended to discuss Pyongyang's nuclear program, missile development and exports and means to reduce conventional forces.

Asked whether the United States was willing to rearrange the agenda, the State Department spokesman, Richard Boucher, said: "I don't think we re going to arrange the agenda through a series of public statements. ... We will set the agenda at the appropriate time when they are ready to talk."

In the daily press briefing, Mr. Boucher said repeatedly that "We have made quite clear the subjects that we intend to raise. I think our position is quite well-known on those issues."
