Kim leaves on visit to 4 European lands
South Korean President Kim Dae-jung left Sunday on a 10-day trip to Europe."The European Union is our second-largest export market, following the United States, and it is also the most active foreign investor in Korea," Mr. Kim said.
His "sales diplomacy" trip will have him in England from Monday through Wednesday. He will meet with Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Tony Blair, discussing deeper economic and trade cooperation.
Mr. Kim then heads to Norway, where he will stay for three days. On Wednesday, he will deliver a speech at a symposium to mark the Nobel Peace Prize's 100th anniversary. Mr. Kim was last year's laureate for the Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Kim then heads to Hungary, and he winds up his trip with a Dec. 10-11 visit to the European Parliament in France.
