French official calls for 'fair' F-X choice
A special adviser to the French defense minister visited the Korean Minister of National Defense Kim Dong-shin on Monday, asking for a "fair and transparent selection process in the F-X project."Jean Bernard Ouvrieu met Mr. Kim as a special envoy of the French government to negotiate a contract for the next-generation fighter jet project.
"The F-X project is very important to the business, military and political relationships not only between Korea and France, but between Korea and the EU as well," Mr. Ouvrieu said as he handed Mr. Kim a letter from Alain Richard, the French defense minister.
Mr. Ouvrieu added that "international experts evaluated the [French-made Dassault] Ra-fale to be better than any other jet."
