Kim to move quickly to fill finance post
Senior Press Secretary Park Sun-sook said at the Blue house Sunday that President Kim Dae-jung will announce quickly whom he will appoint as the new deputy prime minister for economic affairs, who also holds the finance ministry portfolio. Jin Nyum resigned from the post Saturday, the Blue House confirmed Sunday.Presidential Chief of Staff Jeon Yun-churl and Lee Ki-ho, a former senior secretary to the president for economic affairs, are two candidates reportedly under consideration for the job. Should Mr. Jeon be named deputy prime minister, sources say that Mr. Lee is one of two candidates to fill the Blue House position; Park Jie-won, the president's special adviser for policy, is the other. Mr. Lee resigned from the Blue House staff earlier this year under fire.
