Kim back to work Monday, aide says

President Kim Dae-jung will resume his official duties at the Blue House on Monday when he presides over a cabinet meeting held in connection with Ulchi-Focus Lens, a joint Korea-U.S. military drill.

The presidential spokeswoman, Park Sun-sook, added that though the president has not set any public appearances yet, he received staff briefings on Friday.

President Kim contracted pneumonia and has canceled his participation in outdoor events since Aug. 8. He was hospitalized briefly at the Seoul Military Area Hospital No.1 on Tuesday after undergoing medical tests Monday.

Prime Minister-designate Chang Dae-whan delivered the president's Liberation Day address Thursday.
