North deplores blast in Bali, 'all' terrorism

North Korea's head of state Kim Yong-nam has sent "a message of sympathy" to Indonesia's President Megawati Sukarnoputri, expressing condolences for the bomb explosion on Saturday, the North's Central News Agency reported Wednesday.

The blast in Bali killed more than 180 people. Among them are believed to have been two South Korean women. Australia has suggested that the bombers may have been linked to Al Qaeda.

Mr. Kim is president of the North Korean assembly's supreme council. The news agency said the message was delivered Monday. It added that Mr. Kim reaffirmed Pyeongyang's opposition to "all forms of terrorism." North Korea remains on the list of state sponsors of terrorism maintained by the United States.
