&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93TV shopping overflowing with fraud

TV shopping does indeed draw attention. With the sideshows and salespeople commenting on the extravagant quality, not very many people can resist. The goods often include bonuses and gifts.

But what seems to be often is not real. I admit that I succumbed to their strategy and bought a few products. But in the end, I was disappointed. The frozen food was not delivered, with "frozen" often meaning inedible. Small electrical appliances are far from top of the line. Products fail to meet consumer expectations, brewing distrust.

It is easy to say that consumers are responsible for their purchases. There also must be ways to sanction companies that delude consumers with low-quality products.
