[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Discovering your roots is important

I often wonder who I am. Am I a North Korean or a South Korean?
My father is from North Korea and my mother is from South Korea. So, I am half of each. However, I feel that I am a total South Korean because of where and with whom I live.
Sometimes people tell me that I look North Korean and I secretly think, “Well, maybe I am North Korean.” Yet when I look at pictures of great-aunts, uncles and relatives who live in North Korea, I can’t help but wonder: How can they be my relatives?
I don’t know them or have any affection for them at all.
I am trying to prove that there are many people like me in this world. Thus, I’d like North Korean/South Korean relationships to get better.
People need to meet their relatives and get to know one another. This makes much more sense that just looking at pictures.
