&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Steep price of a wedding brings shock

I was shocked and upset when I began to prepare for my son’s wedding. Not only did renting the ceremony cost 3 million won ($2,550), but the post-ceremony meals cost a small fortune. In fact, each meal cost 2,500 won and a minimum of 300 meals was mandatory. I ended up paying close to 10 million won!
These days, not very many people know 300 people or have the money to feed them. Additionally, the hall was only open at 3 in the afternoon. How many people want to come for a midday lunch and are able to handle that much food? What would be the point of serving at that time of day and that amount?
I am sure the wedding hall business will be booming in the spring. I am also sure rip-offs will abound. Is there any way to protect consumers who must deal in this service?
