ILMIN MUSEUM OF ART

To Sunday: “Novel Seoul. Story Tokyo.” An arresting, erotic and occasionally disturbing photo exhibition by Nobuyoshi Araki. Its 1,560 photographs include 48 images from Araki’s celebrated kinbaku series, a daily chronicle of his life and a display of 1,000 Polaroid shots of Korean and Japanese skies.

DAELIM CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM

To Sunday: “Berlin on the Move.” This exhibition portrays daily life in Germany’s capital since the Berlin Wall was toppled in 1989. Eight photographers, each demonstrating a humanistic touch, capture vivid images of contemporary Berlin.

PERFORMANCE

SEOUL ARTS CENTER

Today and Saturday: “Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.” The orchestra, conducted by Samuel Wong, will come to Seoul for two nights of performances. The orchestra will be joined by the Noblesse Quartet on Friday to perform Schoenberg’s Concerto for String Quartet, as well as pieces by Dvorak. Pianist Helen Huang will join the philharmonic for the Saturday show, when they will perform selections from Ferruccio Busoni’s “Turandot,” Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20, Chen Guo Ping’s “Dragon Wings” and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 6.

HIP-HOP CONCERT AND PARTY

Saturday: The American rapper Xzibit will perform a concert at the Sheraton Grande Walker Hill hotel on Saturday, with several local guest rappers, including CB Mass and Joosuc. Afterward, there will be a party deejayed by DJ Big Boy. After-party guests must not be under 18 (I.D. required). Tickets are 45,000 won ($36) for the concert, and 30,000 won for the after party. Joint tickets are the better deal, though, costing 55,000 won.
