Foreign investor Web site opens

Woori Bank yesterday opened an exclusive Internet Web site for foreign investors, the first of its kind in Korea. The site (www.woorifid.com) suggests various investment alternatives and offers consulting on Korean laws and regulations. Foreign investors can receive investment information in real time on the site. The information, available both in Korean and English, gives guidance for foreign direct investment, how to file related documents and provides financial services. Special services provided by the company include legal and tax consulting and manuals for the company operations, including overseas remittances and export and import transactions. Advice on procuring financing and loans is also available through the Web site. Users are encouraged to organize online communities to strengthen consumer solidarity. A Woori Bank official said the site’s quick feed back is designed to attract foreign investors to Korea. by Koh Han-sun
