To April 18: About 120 kites, ranging from rare and unusual Korean kites to foreign kites, are on exhibit for a month at the Literature House. Special kites with poems, creeds, and wishes are also on display.

MOVIE THEATER FOR FOREIGNERS

To March 29: “Cha Young-Soon.” After several exhibitions abroad, Cha Young Soon finally shows her latest creations to the Korean public. In this exhibition, she conveys her concept of beauty through the use of experimental materials, such as tinted silk papers in black and white.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART

To May 11: “A Walk Through Modern Art.” Collection I, “Black and Color Ink Paintings” runs to March 30; Collection II, “Oil and Watercolor Paintings” runs until May 11. These two exhibitions feature artwork revealing the intensive artistic spirit and Zeitgeist of the modern period, from 1900 to the 1960s. “Concept, reality and expression” is the theme embodying the first collection, with paintings dating from the early 1900s showing Japanese influence. The second collection features pieces dealing with the “Ambiguity of Modernism.” Admission: 500 won for ages 7 through 24, and 1,000 won for ages 25 and over.
