Onse Telecom cuts its work force

Onse Telecom Corp. yesterday announced that it had reorganized its business structure. As a result, 46 regular workers, accounting for 10 percent of its work force, will lose their jobs, according to the group. The staff have been placed on a waiting list for retirement. The number of regular employees will be reduced to 439 from 485, the group said. Onse Telecom said it had reorganized to focus on its core business. This included cutting back on staff numbers and integrating sections doing similar work. The international and domestic call departments have been combined into one team, the group said, while the high-speed Internet and data business sections have been abolished and amalgamated into a data business strategic team.
