Daum head is tops in tech wealth
Lee Jae-woong, chief executive of Daum Communications Corp., jumped from fifth to first place among Korea’s wealthiest high-tech businessman, ousting last year’s chart-topper, Kim Taek-jin of NCSoft. This year’s list of Korea’s 20-richest high-tech businessmen, which Koreans call “venture businessmen,” was released yesterday by Equitable, a financial magazine. The ranking was based on the value of stock owned at the end of last month. Mr. Lee topped the list with an appraised share value of 167.9 billion won ($140 million), while Mr. Kim was second with an appraised share value of 115.9 billion won.
