&#91LETTERS TO THE EDITOR&#93Family appreciates story on death of teacher

Thank you so much for the article you did on my brother, Matthew Sellers. (“Death of an English Teacher,” J-Style, Saturday).
You really did a great job and a lot of research. We thank you so much for your diligence. You were able to find out many things we did not know.
It is comforting to hear that the police seemed to show a great deal of concern and compassion to our brother. For some reason we (American citizens) had the idea we were Americans around the clock, even on weekends.
I know from my travels abroad I always felt assured the American Embassy would come to my aid if I needed help. It sounds as if Matthew was in dire need of help.
We have not been able to obtain a copy of the police report from the U.S. Embassy. I learned today that my sister, Beth, has received a copy of a four page weekend duty officer’s log of the embassy’s account of the events of April 19 and 20. There appear to be some differences in what the embassy reports. (At this point, I prefer the Korean police’s version of the events.) I’m hoping you will send a copy of the police report.
It would mean so very much to us, even if it includes what you might consider painful details, to have that report. This would also help us to better sort out as many details about what happened to our brother as possible.
