[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]For security, act together
I am writing in response to the JoongAng Daily column by Song Young-sun Saturday: “Our defense must be beefed up.” There are three separate roles for our government, intellectuals and citizens in this regard.First, the administration should explain where danger lurks. Second, Korea’s intellectuals and the press should provide information to build consensus on national interests and indicate what other countries are willing to do for the common goal of security. Third, people should understand the rights and responsibilities of global citizenship. Let’s consider what we can obtain and what we should give in return for our safety.
