[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Jiri park is a disgrace
I walked through the ridges of Mount Jiri early last month. Before heading for the mountain, I tried to make a reservation at a mountain retreat there; it was hard for me to access the Web site. I succeeded finally, but I couldn’t find any slot for the retreat we wanted. In addition, on the first day we arrived in Mount Jiri, we found the retreat we reserved very worn-out and inconvenient. It looked like a shelter, not a retreat; we had to sleep curled up on the floor. The place was overcrowded with mountain climbers, so we had problems with toilets and running water. Mount Jiri is the most frequented national park. Its facilities must be upgraded.
