Draft agency wants Internet sites closed

The Military Manpower Administration said yesterday that it will crack down on Internet sites here that encourage and assist draft-dodgers. The body asked the Information Communication Ethics Committee to close those site and the prosecution to investigate them. According to the administration, 16 Internet sites were reportedly protesting against the military draft and presented information about how to evade it. International marriages, cutting off one’s trigger finger and getting tattoos were cited as possible means to dodge military service, the administration said, and some of the information was far off the mark. “We asked the information ethics committee to delete all such postings,” a Military Manpower Administration official said. “We will strictly counter any attempts to dodge the draft.”
