Ongoing: “Happy Hour.” The Oak Room’s Beer Garden has extended its Happy Hour to nightly, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The barbecue buffet features chicken, shish kebab, ribs, turkey and German sausage, with a selection of garnishes. An assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables along with unlimited draft beer rounds out the meal. The cost is 20,000 won ($17.50).

Ongoing: “The Fall Flavors of Korean Traditional Teas.” The coffee shop Patio is offering seven kinds of Korean herbal tea. Ssanghwa cha, a medicinal tea, is said to improve blood circulation. Daechu tea made with Chinese dates and herbs, is allegedly good for the skin. Wild ginseng tea is reported to restore one’s inner vitality and improve metabolism. Prices range from 8,000 won to 11,000 won.

12th WORLD SAMULNORI COMPETITION & FESTIVAL

Friday to Sunday: Musicians of Samulnori, or Korean folk music, compete against one another, offering a great opportunity for spectators to experience the energy of the traditional sounds. More than 24 teams of different sizes and age groups present the Korean folk art. Viewers may also participate in Samulnori workshop, experience folk culture and examine the instruments up close.
