Busan to host 2004 ITU convention
Busan will host the ITU Telecom Asia 2004 next September, the Ministry of Information and Communication announced yesterday. Chin Dae-je, the communications minister negotiated the staging of the convention with Yosio Utsumi, the secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union, a United Nations body, in Geneva yesterday. The convention includes an exhibition of IT machinery and a forum for discussing national telecommunications policies. Although held in Asia, participation is not limited to Asian countries. The ministry predicted that more than 500 domestic and foreign companies would participate.
