Net address firm struts its stuff

Netpia, an Internet address manager that can handle addresses typed in Korean script, said yesterday that it would be the only Korean private company to attend the World Summit on the Information Society that started yesterday in Switzerland. The conference was organized by the United Nations and supported by the International Telecommunication Union on a goal of narrowing the disparity between countries in use of the Internet. Netpia is scheduled to make a presentation on its other-language Internet address program. The company’s system allows Internet users to type an address in Korean and be connected to a Web site that has registered a Korean-language name. Most addresses on the Web are in Roman letters. The company said its system could handle any alphabet.
