Hanaro Telecom to issue bonds
Hanaro Telecom Inc. said yesterday it plans to issue $600 million in dollar-denominated bonds in the United States that will mature in five to 10 years. “Hanaro Telecom needs to convert its debts to long-term debts to improve its financial structure,” said Yoon Chang-bun, chief executive officer of the company. The company aims to invest more in high-speed Internet and wireless Internet with the new funds. Hanaro now has 1.3 trillion won ($1.1 billion) of debt.
