Samsung develops a 3G super chip
Samsung Electronics has developed memory chips for mobile equipment that can process data four times faster than conventional SDRAMs. The chipmaker announced yesterday that its new DDR SDRAMs can execute 1.1-giga bytes of data per second and support high-quality moving images and three-dimensional games. This technology will equip third-generation phones, Samsung said. The firm will begin mass production of the new DDR SDRAMs in July. The company currently holds 50 percent of the global DRAM market.
