Hynix Semiconductor to work with ProMOS
Hynix Semiconductor Inc., the world’s third-largest maker of computer memory chips, signed an agreement to jointly make computer memory chips with ProMOS Technologies Inc. Under the agreement, Hynix will license chip-making technology to Taiwan’s ProMOS, Hynix said in an e-mailed statement. ProMOS will manufacture computer chips known as dynamic random access memory for Hynix, the company said. The technology involves carving out chips out of wafers measuring 12 inches (300 millimeters) in diameter, according to the statement.
