[Photo]A Leica camera for Korean patriots
Leica Camera AG created the “An Jung-geun camera” to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japan’s colonial rule. Mr. An assassinated Ito Hirobumi, a Japanese politician who was resident-general of Korea during the colonial period, in Harbin, China, in 1909. He was caught and sentenced to death. On the camera, the Korean patriot’s handprint and Chinese characters that say “I am an honorable Korean” are engraved. Leica Camera produced only 60 of these cameras, and 30 will be sold overseas. They retail at 8.8 million won ($8,658). Provided by the company
