SK Telecom continues to lose market share
SK Telecom Co., South Korea’s largest mobile phone operator, lost market share to smaller rivals for a seventh month after rule changes allowed customers to switch services without changing phone numbers. SK Telecom’s market share in August fell to 51.01 percent from 51.04 percent in July, based on a Bloomberg tally of figures announced Wednesday by the nation’s three operators. KT Freetel Co.’s market share climbed for a fourth month to 32.47 percent from 32.45 percent the previous month. LG Telecom Ltd.’s share rose for a fifth month, increasing to 16.52 percent from 16.51 percent in July.
