Internet firm NHN has surge in profits
NHN Corp., Korea’s most profitable Internet company, said yesterday its net profit jumped 289.1 percent year-on-year in the third quarter due to its sale of a stake in a gaming company and brisk online searching business. Net profit in the three months to September amounted to 35.1 billion won ($33.5 million), compared to 9.0 billion won a year ago. Sales jumped 58.6 percent on the year to 92.7 billion won, with operating profits rising 86.1 percent year-on-year to 32.9 billion won, the company said in a regulatory filing.
