Koreans quick to go high-tech

Taiwanese and Koreans adopt new consumer technologies faster than anyone else, according to a report released Sunday by a U.S.-based market research company. Korea was ranked second after Taiwan for its speed in snatching up MP3 players, video-on-demand, home networks, computers, online services and similar advanced technologies, the Global Digital Living report by Parks Associates said. The report was based a survey of more than 10,000 households in 13 countries. The United States proved the most receptive to TV-related technologies, but fell behind the two Asian nations in the adoption of computer-related technologies. European countries generally placed behind North America and developed Asian countries such as Japan in the adoption of technologies in all categories surveyed. Parks Associates is a market research and consulting company that focuses on digital products and services for home use.
