DoCoMo and KTF set up committee
KTF Co., Korea’s second-largest mobile service operator, launched a joint committee yesterday with NTT DoCoMo Inc., Japan’s biggest mobile phone operator, to boost their cooperation in the next-generation mobile communications field, KTF said. The Business & Technology Cooperation Committee is intended to help the two sides work on developing businesses related to new wireless communications networks, international roaming services and the joint development of mobile phones, the Korean company said. The committee consists of six members, three from each side, KTF added. The move came after the two mobile service giants signed a deal in December to expand cooperation in the wideband code division multiple access (W-CDMA) network and other areas.
