IT companies expect poorer conditions

Business sentiment in the Korean information technology (IT) sector remained below its benchmark in April, affected by sluggish performances in the communications equipment and software sectors. According to a survey by the Korea Association of Information and Telecommunication, the IT business survey index for April dropped to 90 from the previous month’s 94. A reading below 100 means that companies anticipating business conditions to worsen outnumber those expecting an improvement. The monthly survey was based on a poll of 1,312 local IT companies taken by the association between April 25-27. KAIT attributed the decline in April to slower business performances in the IT equipment, software and computer service sectors such as system maintenance and management.
