Pantech makes deal with top cell carrier
Pantech Co., a small-sized Korean handset maker, said yesterday it has supplied camera phones to Cingular Wireless LLC, the largest wireless carrier in the United States. Terms were not disclosed. “The phones will be sold at retail shops in the United States in the middle of this month,” said Yuin Yang, a spokeswoman at Seoul-based Pantech. The C300 model, which is 0.76 inches thick, is the first Pantech-branded phone based on a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) technology, the world’s most used wireless standard, the company said.
