Rice cakes with a purpose
Foreign wives married to Korean men living in South Chungcheong province making plain ddeok, or rice cakes, at an event held by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation in Daejeon. The event was held to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which is this weekend. The 2007 strings of ddeok will be given to the less fortunate, including old people living alone and undernourished children in the region. [YONHAP]
