To Feb. 28: The Buffet Restaurant at the Grand Hilton Seoul invites diners to the pasta station to choose from three varieties of pasta, a wide range of sauces and extras to create their very own “Pasta Perfection.” Try penne and cream sauce with a choice of garlic, onion, sliced olives, bacon and pesto, or a classic spaghetti bolognaise with chopped pepperoni and parmesan cheese. The endless possibilities of customized combinations will be cooked and served fresh and steaming on the spot. The Buffet Restaurant regulars including salads, cold appetizers, soups, hot main dishes and much more will also be available at the price of 49,000 won per person, service charge and VAT inclusive.

Wine Maker’s Dinner with Eric Wente at Grand Hyatt Hotel.

March 6: Grand Hyatt is hosting an exclusive “Wine Maker’s Dinner with Eric Wente” for one night only. Eric Wente is the president of Wente Vineyards, which was founded by the Wente family in 1883, now in its fourth generation of wine growers. The Grand Hyatt’s chefs will be presenting a six course gourmet dinner for this special occasion, showcasing six Wente wines. A different premium wine such as Brut Reserve Sparkling or Murrieta’s Well Meritage Red 2002 will be served with each exquisite dish. On the menu is fresh trout carpaccio, Australian crayfish, Australian beef tenderloin with seared foie gras, warm Valrhona chocolate fondant and halabong sorbet. Eric Wente will be moderating the evening, and providing insight into his family’s wine philosophy.
Dinner is 155,000 won, service charge and VAT inclusive.

To March 31: JW Marriott Seoul presents “A Taste of Sicily” at its newly opened Italian restaurant, Olivo. The cultural diversity of Sicilian cuisine is explored with secret recipes of Chef Franco Sommariva, who proudly presents a menu of a la carte dishes boasting the bountiful sea life of the Mediterranean, including mussel soup with garlic, white wine and tomatoes prepared Taormina style, grilled fillet of tuna served with garlic spinach. For non-seafood-eaters pan-fried Australian veal scaloppini in marsala sauce with potatoes and ratatouille; watermelon ice cream served with orange jelly and almond tulip; or sweet, crispy tubes filled with ricotta candied fruit and chocolate chips are some other treats to look forward to.
Prix fixe menus range from 14,000 won to 32,000 won, and dessert menus are 9,000 won or 10,000 won. All prices exclude a 10 percent service charge and 10 percent VAT.
