Samsung target of U.S. lawsuit

Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. was sued by a U.S. tech company for its alleged infringement of patented technology related to MP3 music player production.
According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, a U.S. daily newspaper on Saturday, Texas MP3 Technologies filed the lawsuit on Feb. 16 against Samsung, Apple Inc. and SanDisk Corp. in a federal court there, claiming the companies violated its sound-reproducing technology.
It is the first time for Samsung to be sued in relation to MP3 music player technologies, though it has faced legal action in the semiconductor and flat-panel industries.
